Do any of these statements sound like you?

I'm angry that I have to handle the money alone.
I feel stupid when it comes to investing.
I want to keep things the same for the kids but I don't know if I can afford it.
Who can I trust to help me with all this?
I've never handled this much money before.
Will I have enough money to retire?
Should I sell the house?
I am worried that I will make the wrong decision.
Do I need to get a job?
Should I write a will?  What is a trust?
I just don't think I can deal with all this.
Can someone just explain this brokerage statement to me.
I'm tired of worrying about money all the time.

In the Process of Divorce?

Would you like to see what your financial future would look like if you accepted the current offer from your spouse?  Do you want to understand all the financial terms and account statements?  Do you want to be confident in the decisions you make?  Are you ready to plan for your future?

If so, then you would benefit from
Financial Divorce Planning.

As a Certified Financial Divorce Practitioner (CFDP), I would work with you during the divorce process to provide expertise on the financial consequences of property settlements, child support and spousal support.  By bringing the skills of financial divorce planning to an emotionally charged situation, you would be given the necessary education and tools to make sound financial decisions for the future. It is important that you have a good understanding of your assets, cash flow, budgeting and possible tax implications of your choices.Using the powerful Family Law Software, I would help you prepare your Comprehensive Financial Statement.  I would work closely with your divorce attorney to prepare detailed illustrations to educate you about the different options discussed during the negotiation process.  To help you understand the long-term financial results of various scenarios, "what-if" examples would be used.  These may include:

  • the division of property
  • child and/or spousal support amounts
  • keeping vs. selling the marital home
  • working vs. retiring

Services may also include valuing defined benefit pensions and working with your attorney on Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO).As a CFDP, I do not engage in the practice of law but work closely with your selected attorney.  In this role, I also do not give investment advice nor provide financial planning services.
